I love stories. I love listening to others tell theirs and to tell mine.

I’ve had an epic life and now in my 50’s I am writing it all down and sharing my human experience to create connections with other humans.

My hope is that you find the support, relief and inspiration that is created when we feel recognized and understood.

I love to learn from others and then teach from these experiences. I get to hear so much brilliance from so many, often discovered after the relief and release of pain and shame through our sessions!

We are all just having a human experience after all…

I am here for the care around the release and these essays are written with the intention of creating relief through self recognition that leads to self-understanding.

On my way home

On my way home

On the way home from my healer Su’s little house in the woods, “The Peace House” is its name, I heard it so clearly that I suddenly said it outloud to myself: “Nope. I’m not feeling alright.” My mom was found four years ago today, and I guess I need to heavily mourn a...

On my way home

On the way home from my healer Su’s little house in the woods, “The Peace House” is its name, I heard it so clearly that I suddenly said it outloud to myself: “Nope. I’m not feeling alright.” My mom was found four years ago today, and I guess I need to heavily mourn a good while more. From what we have pieced together, it is likely she died yesterday on the night of the Spring Equinox. When the...

Regrets

I have so many things to write but I just woke from a floaty Sunday nap remembering something I haven’t thought of in years. The memory is from back when my Mom Eve was still my Aunt Eve. During this time, Eve was still married to her first husband and I had come to stay for the night at her house. I was maybe four years old and was visiting from Kansas City staying with my grandparents on...

Menopause

This is a bit of a story about Perimenopause and the journey towards Menopause. I recently went on a travel odyssey (more about the full 3 weeks of learning soon)... It began in the woods of Massachusetts where I took part in an incredible gathering of healers wanting...

This is a bit of a story about Perimenopause and the journey towards Menopause. I recently went on a travel odyssey (more about the full 3 weeks of learning soon)... It began in the woods of Massachusetts where I took part in an incredible gathering of healers wanting to focus upon the growing debilitating effects of hormonal change in perimenopausal women. This retreat taught me that I need to...

Dear Young Mom

Dear Momma of Young Ones, I was once you. I poured everything I had into my husband and children. I was a powerhouse. I breast fed through double mastitis and mashed up my own organic fresh baby food. I co-slept, baby next to me. I had a raging sore throat and bronchitis one Christmas and hosted BOTH sides of the family anyway. When I had a sitter come in to take care of the kids, I planned and...

Healing Care

I noticed the other day that my daughter had chapped lips. So, I asked her if she wanted the calendula ointment that works wonders and she said: "sure" The next day I noticed her lips were still red but didn't say anything because she's a teenager and I only get to...

I noticed the other day that my daughter had chapped lips. So, I asked her if she wanted the calendula ointment that works wonders and she said: "sure" The next day I noticed her lips were still red but didn't say anything because she's a teenager and I only get to notice so many things out loud per week. The third day I noticed her lips were not much better once again, so I mentioned it...

Life Is not 100%

Here is a concept: Life is not experienced as 100% anything. We are made of fluid and we experience life as the ever changing and wave-like or shifting cloud creatures we are. Things can be 40% good and 60% painful...equalling 100% Also, things can be 70% good and 40% painful. Yes, that does add up to more than 100% and yes, life can feel like 110%. If we can see this as possible - that...

Skills & Gifts

How many skills do you have that are, at this point, well honed? Probably billions. It is possible that you have forgotten how much it took to learn how to: walk, talk, run, make people laugh, comfort a co-worker, clean a bird cage, book an airbnb, pick out cabinet...

It is possible that you have forgotten how much it took to learn how to: walk, talk, run, make people laugh, comfort a co-worker, clean a bird cage, book an airbnb, pick out cabinet knobs everyone admires, organize paperwork for others or yourself, tell the future, accept the past, knit, sweep gutters out, kindly...

The Lioness

The lioness is just as powerful in her potential state as she is in her active state. She doesn't need to be doing to be powerful. We all know what is possible, despite the languidness of her laying in the grass or sauntering through her terrain. Observing her I learned: It is deeply grounding to remember that rest is what precedes powerful action. It is deeply realistic to remember that rest is...

Vacuum & Sock

Vacuum & Sock

Like a lot of women right now, I am rage cleaning I don't vacuum often but when I do, I go all out. I mean, I am in the back of the closet sucking up things that were so deep, they themselves didn't even know where they were. Cleaning deep made me notice something...

Like a lot of women right now, I am rage cleaning I don't vacuum often but when I do, I go all out. I mean, I am in the back of the closet sucking up things that were so deep, they themselves didn't even know where they were. Cleaning deep made me notice something important. A lost sock suddenly got caught in the long attachment that is round and made to reach far and get into smaller places....

Self Love

Let’s talk to ourselves in a way that counteracts culture and opens us to healing In my coaching practice, most of the worst pain I see is self inflicted. We have been taught to speak to ourselves cruelly and push ourselves with harsh commands or demeaning put downs. These internalized habits cause us constant, minute by minute, day by day, pain. And often when my clients first truly see this...
